 This American Red Cross blended learning course combines an online self-paced module with an in-person skills session to prepare participants to recognize and respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children, and infants. The online portion must be completed before attending the in-person skills session. Upon successful completion, participants receive a 2-year American Red Cross certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, meeting OSHA, workplace, and regulatory requirements.

Course Includes:

  • Access to online training module (available 24/7)

  • In-person skills check with certified instructor

  • American Red Cross 2-year certification card (issued within 48 to 72 hours)

Duration:

  • Online: approximately 2–3 hours (self-paced)

  • In-person skills: approximately 2 hours

Become an American Red Cross BLS Instructor with JBM Medical

This course is designed to train instructors on teaching  first aid, CPR, and AED courses from the American Red Cross. A current CPR/AED (or higher level) certification from the American Red Cross  is required for participation in the instructor course. Participants must also be 16 years of age on the last day of the course. The duration of the course is 8 hours. When registering, it is imperative that you read and follow the instructions in the e-mail attachment that comes with your confirmation email.

New Instructors without Experiencce:

Successfully complete the online course prior to an in-person skills session

Successfully complete the in-person skills session.

Instructor Alignment Required:

Upon successful completion, instructors will be aligned under JBM Medical’s Red Cross Training Provider Agreement. Alignment is necessary to issue certification cards and officially conduct ARC classes.

Bridging Courses for Experienced Instructors

The free, online Instructor Bridge Courses are available for qualified Instructors certified with equivalent training organizations who wish to become Red Cross Instructors for student learners in the programs listed below. After signing up for the course, submit the prerequisite documentation. You can take these courses once your Instructor certification has been reviewed and accepted.

 This American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed for healthcare professionals and public safety personnel who need to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adult, child, and infant patients.

Course Format: Blended Learning – Part 1 is an online course completed at your own pace, followed by Part 2, an in-person skills session with an ARC Authorized Instructor. This is NOT an online-only course; both parts are required for certification.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Airway management & rescue breathing

Certification:
Upon successful completion of both the online and in-person portions, participants will receive a 2-year American Red Cross BLS certification.
